1. Sport: Dylan Carter claimed victory in the men’s 200 free
at the 2017 Arena Pro Swim Series Indy: Mesa, holding off a fast moving Joao de Luca
in the final 50 meters. Carter, who represented Trinidad and Tobago at the 2016
Rio Olympics, stopped the clock at a 1:48.45 for the gold.

Meanwhile in India, Kieron Pollard joined the 7,000-run club with a stunning Man-of-the-Match half-century, trumping a brilliant hat-trick from fellow Trinidadian Samuel Badree to propel Mumbai Indians to a rollicking four-wicket victory over Chris Gayle’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), yesterday.
